KEY Styles and/or colours that are not normally stocked are marked with an *asterisk but can still be ordered.

Delivery Time can be as little as a few days when your hat is in stock (and it usually will be). However, if it is out of stock or *not normally stocked, there can sometimes be a delay of between one and twelve weeks.
It requires the finest under-fur of between eight to sixteen rabbits to create your AKUBRA plus up to 200 separate manufacturing operations all of which, unfortunately, takes time! An AKUBRA never the less, is always worth waiting for.

CURRENCY CONVERSION occurs automatically through your credit card company when they bill you. To convert Australian Dollars to your own currency, simply multiply the $AU (Australian dollar price) by the exchange rate which should be available from your bank.

Special Sizes, from tiny (48cm) to super-large (76cm), are available in selected styles and colours so please feel free to enquire. The small downside is AU$10 up in price, but the big upside is that you can finally settle down and enjoy a comfortable, quality hat! More costly White Rabbits provide the fur for lighter colours and you will also notice this fact reflected in some prices.

HAT TERMS
Superfine Quality applied to most pre-war Akubras. Since then some styles have been referred to as Imperial Quality. Both terms are now largely redundant. but traditional!
Pre-blocked or Pre-creased refers to hats that have been shaped at the factory.
Open Crowned hats are not pre-blocked thus enabling them to be shaped to your specific instructions by The Strand Hatters’ expert blockers.
Bound Edge/Cut Edge - High quality fur felt is the strongest fabric known to man and will not fray. Cut or bound edges are purely a matter of personal preference.
Tapered or Telescopic Crown is the oval cone-shape of the “Boss”.
Trim simply refers to the hat band and any other exterior ornamentation such as feathers and badges.
